Design/Visual Comm Lecturer needed:
Visual Communication Design Lecturer The School of Communication at The Ohio State University is currently accepting applications for Visual Communication Design Lecturer. Duties: teaches print and web creative design, layout and production for Lantern practicum; teaches and guides students in creative news design and coordination of unified identity for print and web versions of Lantern; trains students in all elements of daily Lantern production; conducts InDesign workshops; establishes design goals and expectations for students; teaches and facilitates coordination of design and photography for print and web and photo and video editing; trains students in multimedia design of Lantern web site; provides design and layout training and guidance in Lantern newsroom practicum; teaches students to place display and classified advertisements within layout of paper and to resolve pre-press issues; oversees student graphic editors in Lantern newsroom practicum; works with and educates students in operation of hardware and software platforms that support print and web publications; teaches communication news design, visual communication design and effective communication for web courses; works afternoons and evenings during publication schedule when students are in newsroom; this is a nine-month academic year benefits eligible position paid over twelve months. Required qualifications: masters degree or equivalent education/ experience. Desired qualifications: doctoral degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; significant professional experience in print and web visual media production; knowledge of and experience with InDesign, Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite software for Macintosh.
