Public Affairs Communicator Development Program

A position is currently available in Dow’s Public Affairs Communicator Development Program based in the United States for professionals graduating in December of 2010 or 2011. Each participant in the program develops their skills, experience and network by completing three rotating assignments, each lasting about four to six months. Assignments include project work that challenges and develops well rounded Public Affairs professionals. At the end of the rotational program, the alumnus is placed in a regular career position, based on available positions and the individual’s preference and performance.

Public Affairs professionals at Dow play an essential role in improving communications between people and opening up the dialogue for change. Interacting with stakeholders such as customers, employees, retirees, communities. Dow Public Affairs professionals lead key communication roles throughout the company including, Employee Communications, Community Relations, Media Relations, eCommunications, and Business Public Affairs.

Dow offers internships each year through the National Student Program (NSP). This program is very competitive and equips students with first-hand knowledge of what it takes to effectively communicate, build reputation and facilitate organizational success for a global company.

The Dow Public Affairs Internship Program is directed at university or college students who are entering their junior year or beyond. Offered through the National Student Program, the internship program provides on-the-job training, typically during the summer. Eligible students should be working toward a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or another related field. Requirements for participation include: minimum of a 2.700 GPA.
